Hanky Panky resident DJ Herne is spending the weekend practicing his sets for appearances in the Silent Disco and the Rbbit Hole areas.
He hasn’t long to get the set’s nailed as the Hanky Panky crew embark to the Glastonbury festival site on Saturday 20th June to help as crew with the set up of the IDSpiral and Rabbit Hole tents.
Herne is now adding digital DJ’ing via an Apple Macbook and Native Instrument’s might Traktor Scratch software. Herne has used the digital medium in his sets since buying the Pioneer CDJ500Mk1 in 1995, the first DJ CD player to incorporate a jog wheel (since copied on all DJ CD players).
Traktor Scratch opens up the horizon for a DJ to soar into new airspace, with the ablity to seemlessly extend tracks with loops, that are time synced into the mix. Its now easier to create mash-ups and the ablity to handle digital files as vinyl (with the timecoded vinyl) is a magic Merlin would have been proud of.
